Don’t imagine if you will because it happened…receiving a phone call from a person who does not live in your municipality, blaming the municipality for the Magna Earthquakes because Magna allowed fracking.
First, Magna has never authorized a fracking permit. Neither has Salt Lake City, going to the next point… Second, most of the quakes and aftershocks, though greatly impacting Magna, actually happened in Salt Lake City. Yes, the quake and almost all of the 1400 plus aftershocks happened in the westernmost fringes of Salt Lake City, next to Magna.
This call chewed up 30 minutes I am going to want back. Between calls like this one and the “dirt pile is too high in my backyard, can the city come fix it,” I am about ready to start telling these mental giants to grow the hell up, call a shrink for their mental problems, or to get off their ass and fix their problem themselves (dirt pile).
