Going on 11 years now... hard to believe. There's some hype this pre-season, but it always comes down to prove it on the field. Here's to a Whittingham-Ludwig reunion tour...

It's hard to put too much expectation on the offense in Ludwig's first year back. But the talent and experience is there... IF they can gel and play as a team.

    Should be a fun season.

It was a good game, an epic defensive battle, up until that last play. What a shame to end it on such a blatant non-enforcement of basic rules after a season of letter-of-the-law (most of the time) enforcement of a rule deployed to prevent lawsuits.

    by Zeous
    2018-11-30 23:25:22

It's disappointing to see college football lose it's luster. What's the point of the game if the rules aren't respected. It's not entertaining, it's not satisfying to the sense of fair play or sportsmanship, and it reeks of corruption.

It's a shame, but part of the game. Now the Utes get to hope that they can win a popularity contest and go to San Diego or San Antonio. Such is the WWE errrr I mean NCAAF.

As cool as it is that this game is for a Rose Bowl berth, I hope someday it is for a guaranteed playoff berth.

    2018-11-27 20:52:22

Regardless, this game is winnable on Friday. It needs to be the best outing of the year overall, and bounces need to go our way, but it is definitely winnable.

It would be worth 15 yards if Covey took a personal foul to make a statement early on. Washington and their "muh best defensive backfield in the universe" bullshit meme can suck donkey balls.

Can't imagine he'd do it, but I'd love to see it. If that makes me a bad person then so be it.

Would Chris Peterson win as much at Utah as Whittingham?

    by Zeous
    2018-10-03 21:01:36

Suppose the two traded places, does Peterson at the U still beat Whittingham at UW?

Does Peterson have a South Division championship yet, much less a CC?

All speculation of course. I think probably, yes. But what are the odds that Utah can land a Peterson-level guy? Yeah it happened once with Meyer, but Utah is no longer a sleeping giant in the minor leagues.

How about any of the other P12 coaches trading places with Whit? I don't think any of them would have more wins than Whit at Utah at this point.

Browning is playing a hell of a game though - so calm in every passing play. If Huntley could learn how Browning drifts and keeps the play in front of him, he could use his legs so much more effectively.

And damn, Covey may be another casualty in this war. That sucked.

Seems to me you are moving the goal posts, brah. Suddenly 1000+ years of precedent doesn't count?

Don't they deserve it for solving all the problems in the world? ;)

It's self-evident in the definition you selected. Who creates custom? Judges? Did judges exist before any and all custom, which precedes precedent? (pardon the redundancy, but apparently it is needed)

No, that has not always been the case nor is it still in a court of record, else how could jury nullification ever be a thing.

"law that is derived from custom and judicial precedent"... and where do those customs and judicial precedents come from? Juries of peers, right? And who makes up juries?
