Have to admit, I have some mixed feelings on JJ

    by MinnesotaUte
    2019-04-10 17:16:27

First I want to say that I have always been impressed with Jayce's on court effort. Nothing I say here changes or denigrates my opinion that on the court he gave everything he had to the team. And further, I have no idea what type of effort he put in off the court, so I have no opinion, the only data I have to draw from is the product on the floor for the last 3 years, and I watch ever single game that is televised, bar none.

That said, if he leaves, to me it is very clear what we are losing with Jayce because he has been more or less the same player his entire career thus far. He is marginally effective on the offensive end, probably in the bottom 25% of starting centers in the NCAA statistically. He is fairly decent, probably between the 60% to 75% statistically on the defensive end including rebounding. That together makes him perhaps slightly worse than average for DI. I don't really believe that it's likely for him to improve that much for his senior year since he hasn't improved that much in the prior two seasons. And I think watching most of the bigs perform in the NCAA tourney helped to highlight just how far away from excellent Jayce is or is likely to be.

So given that, it's difficult for me to excoriate Larry for losing him. However as others correctly point out, it's not obvious that we have someone that can deliver above average performance to replace him. And I do believe that we have the money, facilities, history, and reputation to expect better than average players at every position, at least in starting roles if not in depth. But I'm not settled on the notion that there is not a bigger plan here.

Is it possible or likely that Jayce is in the portal because he needs to explore his options such that he has picked a landing spot IF something Larry is working comes through? And is it possible that Jayce is willing to do this for the team because he knows that the guys coming up have an opportunity to do something good if we had a center that could provide the shot blocking and rebounding he brings while also having an offensive game to score, thus open up driving lanes and outside shots by commanding double teams?

Last years team was pretty young, so even the known players coming in getting more minutes to grow and develop is not the worst thing. I've been critical of Larry, but to me, this one doesn't feel like the others just yet, but time will tell.

I can't lie, this season to this point has far exceeded my expectations, there was a time not long ago that I openly questioned whether we would win a single game in conference. However that said...

Dude was able to recruit and compete at the highest level in Boise for pete's sake. Dude's record is 139 - 33. Out of 13 seasons, he has only finished worse than 2nd in conference twice, first 2 years in PAC, and has finished 1st the last three years. I'm not trying to S his D, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't be surprised to see a dynasty at UW as long as he stays.

He's struggled in bowls the last three years, but I have a feeling that won't last.

Been super busy at work, so haven't had a chance to post on my eye-test from Monday night

I was able to look back at some of the comments earlier today, and tend to agree that I am not disappointed entirely in the result. Wish we could have won, but that just didn't seem realistic. The game actually played out according to my most optimistic expectation. We did an OK job on Coffey, and we weren't able to do much with Murphy, but didn't anticipate that freshman going off for 20+.

As I observed after the Maine game, our upperclassman are basically the same players they've been, with Donnie being the lone bright spot. My only comment for above expectations was Novak. My only observation for below expectations was Jayce, I hate to say it, but he is really terrible. Marginal above expectations was Chuck, marginal below was Both, rest were about where I thought they'd be, and I pretty much knew that Minnesota was going to be better, especially at home.

Sed is not a PG, so we need to stop running him there. We need to be deliberately working the offense through Vante, Tim, and Both. If we put these guys in position to score double figures every game, we'll have a decent season when it's all said and done. The guys have the horse power to compete in the Pac12, but Larry needs to help them figure out how to score within the offense.

I know it's not all about me, but I did buy 10 tickets to treat 9 other friends and family to the game, so I am invested here. 4 of the 10 are native Minnesotans who are Gopher fans. And we'll be driving over 2 hours to the game, so... Anyway, I'm going to be bummed out if we look totally bush league and get thoroughly destroyed. Come on team, let's get after them Monday!!!

What's wrong with Utah Basketball? Maybe nothing, we'll see, but maybe this?

    by MinnesotaUte
    2017-08-15 12:41:31

This question was asked a page back with respect to recruiting. But I think we can ask that question more broadly as its certainly odd that we cant even get an NCAA bid with a guy that dominated the NBA summer league. We can add to it our late game collapses, massive departures, revolving door of players, and probably more, so its not just recruiting.

Here is my guess, I would guess that the root of the problem, IF there is one, is that Krystko is a one of these 'culture' guys. Im giving my opinion, and feel free to denigrate my opinion, or to challenge any of my observations or conclusions, I mean after all, this is a sports message board, so the purpose here is to talk about our teams and speculate on what is working and what isnt, and perhaps why. So I am posting in that spirit.

This culture thing is something that my sons experienced in high school, and that is where it first hit my radar. Since then, I have been very sensitive to it, maybe overly so. And perhaps its confirmation bias on my part, but I sure seem to see it rearing its ugly head quite frequently across many different sports at many different levels. And the results arent good, while by comparison, I see a lot of successful coaches that clearly have a culture, but they dont incessantly talk and tweet about culture, but instead talk about individuals.

I summarize the culture philosophy this way: We (our team, organization, department, etc.) have a distinct culture. Our culture is what sets us apart and what allows us (our team, organization) to be successful. We all have to be bought in to the culture. We will assign you a role within our culture, and we will expect certain behaviors from you that are consistent with our culture. In some cases, those roles will be explicitly assigned, and in others they will only be inferred, but in either case, failure to accept and perform in your role will indicate that you are not bought in, and as such, you are a detriment to our success. If that is you, then you will be identified as a problem, and consequences will follow.

Now I am sure that of the two or three of you that read this far at least 2 if not 3 of you are saying Whats the problem? Sounds reasonable to me. And first and foremost, I will say that I certainly understand that reaction, because I myself believed that up until a few years ago. Hell, I still believe that culture is both real and important. But I now firmly believe that culture is a byproduct not an end result, and as such, culture should not be the goal nor the structure, but rather something you realize when you are doing everything else right. And some may say that is a distinction without a difference or ask why that is important. Here is my answer:

Culture as a goal and/or structure demeans the individual. It tells the player that their individuality doesnt matter, only the collective matters, and their individual contribution is just an ingredient that is easily substituted. Therefore, what they need to do is to submit to the collective, and in so doing within the recipe, they will become the best version of themselves. This is often a difficult if impossible thing for some people to do, since human beings are complex autonomous beings, that show a need right from their earliest days to be independent. A toddlers first favorite word is always no, and that isnt by accident. Its only later, after the terrible 2s, that they learn to please authority by performance. But even then, when you try to exert control and conformity, they will quickly reassert their independence. Those that do conform, only do so when their will is broken. This is why you must recruit only players that fit your culture because otherwise they have two options, leave or be broken. And in doing so, you have narrowed your talent pool based on conformity.

A better strategy is to figure out how each player can best contribute, which means that you have to be willing to give over some control and responsibility to the individual. I think the most successful coaches are those that allow players to assert their individuality, and they talk in positive terms about their potential, and assure them that they are a unique asset, not a cog in a wheel. That is not to say that they cant talk about their responsibility to the team, but its the players own responsibility to their teammates as individuals that all share a common goal, its not the players responsibility to a culture. When they talk to these individuals about their expectations, goals, and capabilities, they are very specific about identifying behaviors and explaining the impact of that behavior on the team and individuals within that team. They help the player understand how those behaviors align with the goals and expectations, and how those in turn align with their best interest, and that of the team.

In essence, explaining any of these behaviors or expectations necessary to the culture is the coaching equivalent of telling a kid because I say so. And just like a parent that is prone to say because I said so, coaches that lean on culture are often prone to forcing conformist schemes that dont connect to performance, or if they do, they do not explain to the player in respectful and positive way how that requirement connects to performance and how it affects other individuals.

The real upside for running a program this way is that you create a team around the best players you can recruit, and around the best those players can give. Rather than building it around the player that fits your culture, and hoping that your imposed culture gets the best out of them.

I have no inside knowledge of the program, so I could be way off. And like most things, its probably not black and white, so perhaps the truth is somewhere in the middle, and always more complicated and nuanced than one message board post. But generally, I think I see a number of good players not choosing Utah, along with a number leaving the program. I am sure that kids talk, so there is probably no mystery around what type of program Krystko runs. I see the team converging around a specific type of player, and I feel a little bit like this program may be topping out in terms of success with this type of player/system. I also understand that there are players, Marshall springs to mind, that are just so self-centered, that they are always going to be a distraction, but those are the minority I think.

Anyway, just my $0.02, and as my old boss used to say, that and a nickel will get you a cup of coffee.

The more scoring in a game and fewer players, the more predictable the outcome.

    by MinnesotaUte
    2017-01-23 14:08:49

In other words, with lots of possessions, lots of points, and only 5 players on the floor and maybe a 8 to 10 person rotation at the most, statistically, I bet the better team has a tendency to win more often than in a sport like soccer or football. By better team, I mean both talent and execution. Talent encompasses both athleticism and size, and execution encompasses game plan, skill, and basketball IQ.

At this point I am going to go out on a limb and say that by those measures, we are head and shoulders above the bottom 8, slightly worse than UCLA and a fair bit below AZ and Oregon.

I don't feel like I'm smack talking, I just happen to think it is true. Now there are other variables that can't be controlled, which are things like how the game is officiated, injuries, illness, and luck of the bounce. If two teams are different, then how the game is officiated might be completely consistent and still favor one over the other. Officiating also isn't always even. The others rear their ugly head whenever. But all things being equal, and even if several things are unequal, I think we beat Cal home and away, and they and USC finish 5/6.

But I just don't think we can beat the Ducks without some breaks. Brooks not playing would be huge, but only if Collette is playing otherwise they more than offset. Getting some breaks with the refs would be great, but even if it is just even with few fouls called, that would be huge. If it's a foul-fest, us being not as deep and also with suspect foul shooting, I think we are in trouble.

If we shoot lights out, that would help, but I kinda doubt we will because they are so long and close out so well, all shots will be contested. We must get to the rim and finish through contact, or draw, kick, & swing. Gotta move the ball and make them work. I'm excited for the game and won't be disappointed if we lose. It will be a great gut check, wish I could go.

One thing I observed and haven't seen commented on was what appeared to me to be a very tired offensive line.

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-10-04 15:07:47

We ran somewhere just under 100 offensive plays with most of those seeming to come in the second half or late in the 2nd quarter. And it just seemed like we were having our way with Cal running the ball, as well as Troy having seemingly plenty of time to pass. But there at the very end, when we were trying to seal the deal on what would have been the game winning drive, it seemed like we couldn't block anybody. TW was either scrambling or having to throw quick and all our running plays were getting blown up. There are many here that know much more about this than I do, but that was my take. We couldn't get it done because our O-Line was gassed, meanwhile Cal's defense seemed to have much more in reserve, at least that is what I saw.

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-07-18 07:05:24

I feel really bad for Phil. I know some folks on here like to bash Phil, and he has his flaws for sure, as do we all, but you have to feel for him. He has finished second 11 times in majors (6 in US Opens), which has surpassed Arnie with 10, but still 8 shy of The Golden Bear's 19. But Jack had 18 Major wins, where as Phil has but 5.

Some people think he is a phony, I disagree but I admit I don't know him so I can only go by what others that do know him appear to think. It sure seems that most of the players on the tour genuinely like him. I've heard many of them comment on how much they enjoy playing with him. It sure didn't hurt Henrik nor any of the other guys that shot career rounds by his side in the final round of majors. And the fact that his caddy Bones, who himself seems like a really nice guy, has been by his side for this many years tells me something about him too. And he also seems to have a stable family life and have his priorities in order. The gambling not withstanding, because frankly I believe a guy should be able to do with his money as he pleases, and lord knows he has plenty, just as long as he isn't betting on his sport.

Bottom line to me is that Phil is a nice guy who likes to make people around him feel at ease. He doesn't try to intimidate or instill fear to make his competition wilt. He seems to want his competitors to play their best and if he beats them at their best, great, if not, so be it. Not that he doesn't want to win, but it seems he doesn't want to win that way.

At 46, it's hard to know if he'll win another major, but I hope he does, because he has to have some karma built up after that one! He is a class act, at least that is my opinion until proved otherwise.

Congrats to Stenson on an otherworldly performance.

    I love this quote

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-03-07 14:04:03

"Before our guys got a chance to sit down I let them know that I'm OK with losing. I'm not fearing losing and you shouldn't be fearing losing. But we're going to go down swinging."
    Larry K3

I think that is the essence of playoff basketball, if you are afraid of losing, you play tight. But if you can get into the mindset of just leaving it all on the court, then the result will often take care of itself. And even if it doesn't, you have no regrets.

Its nice to see the Utes pull out a win on a night when shooting was off, and to see them get the train back on the tracks. That is a good confidence builder going into the P12 tourney even though it wasn't pretty.

I'm so giddy with excitement for this team, that it really sucks living in Minnesota, because nobody cares about NCAA BBall here, and with good reason. I feel bad for them I really do, but this is the reality of their existence:

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-02-29 15:23:57

Minnesota is the 21st largest state by population. 5.5MM people, just slightly larger than Colorado and nearly double the size of Utah. Its the 12 largest state by size, just ahead of Utah, and behind Michigan.

And yet, they have ONE D1 University. AND that ONE D1 University is bad at pretty much everything except occasionally Hockey. Of course they have a nice FB stadium, and they entertain hopes of one day being better, but only because FB is pretty much a national past time. But they don't give two farts about basketball, and it shows, because their own hometown talent almost never stays to play at the only D1 school in their home state.

It annoys me that people in MN perpetually look down their nose at Utah specifically and the PAC12 generally, when the PAC12 & Big10 are arguably equals, but also when their school continually struggles in Big10. Now I'm not gloating, because nothing would make me happier than to have both the Gophs and the Utes to root for, but in the meantime, they all just as well could join me in rooting for the Utes.

One thing I really want is for the PAC to put up a better fight in the post season this year. On the whole, the PAC was bad last year, and the Big10 was really really good. I'd like to see us get in 7 teams, and I'd like to see at least 5 of the 7 survive the first game, and 3 make it past the first weekend. I'd say 4 but that's just greedy, nevertheless, Oregon, Utah, Cal, and Az could all do it.

Is the Big12 overrated? At least according to the BPI?

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-02-29 08:44:07

I wish I could find a way to post a table, but did some crunching and B12 SOS according to BPI averages 22.9 while ACC is 28.3 and PAC12 is 32.8. SEC 36.6, Big East 56.2, and B10 is 60.6

When I look at the individual SOS in BPI for B12 vs P12, they have 4 in top 10, 6 in top 25, and the highest is 58 (which ironically is Kansas). While P12 has 1 in top 10, and 4 in top 25, and the highest is 60 which is WSU.

I don't understand the BPI, but it seems like it really has a hard-on for the B12

Not that its an excuse for anything we all saw last night, but an observation/question...

    by MinnesotaUte
    2016-01-15 07:01:24

Does practicing in the new facility have an impact on our performance on the big court? At least on shooting if nothing else? We've been nails on our home court for years. Even years when our teams were pretty bad, we were always formidable at home. Now they are spending a lot more time shooting against a different back drop, and coincidentally our shooting percentage in games at home seems to be in retreat. I just can't help thinking that there is a correlation there, and potentially causation. Some basketball geek should do some stats on home record vs practice location across the NCAA.

Funny conversation with Coworker who is TDS Alumnus, asking me if I had a great weekend.

    by MinnesotaUte
    2015-09-30 08:26:01

I said yup, my boys team won Friday, Utes won Saturday, and Vikes won Sunday... What could be better. He was acting strange like he was waiting for me to say something else. He finally couldn't help himself and asked if I was happy BYU lost, and it dawned on me that I legitimately had not even considered that fact. I mean I knew they had lost, but I was kind of expecting it because they had only narrowly escaped in the two previous games, neither of which I watched. But really, honestly and truly, its just a non factor to me.

I just said to him, "You know... it really doesn't matter to me if they win or lose. We don't play each other, we aren't in the same conference, their success or failure has no bearing on our season. I honestly don't care." He seemed crest fallen, and afterwards when I thought about it, I felt bad. I realize now that being irrelevant is worse than being hated. Next time I'll probably just pretend like I was interested, and tell him not to worry, its just one game, you guys will be fine.

I post this as basically a PSA, because I'm sure there are a lot of nice BYU fans out there, he is definitely one of them. We should take the high road with them, who knows maybe we'll win some of them over. Choose The Red Baby!!

And by false choice, I don't mean this ridiculous post, I mean democrat/repubican
    (1 day ago, 0 stars)

What I find sad is that the system has provided you this false choice in order to distract and divide, it's working perfectly
    (1 day ago, 0 stars)

I couldn't disagree with you more
    (7 days ago, 4 stars)

Saw a bit of a back and forth a page back, and wanted to address it more broadly here.
    (9 days ago, 0 stars)

We do have issues, that are different than the rest of the world that I think do play a role.
    (13 days ago, 1 stars)

Because sending our blood and treasure to 'help out' around the world has worked out so well...
    (22 days ago, 3 stars)

A few quick points, I know not my style
    (22 days ago, 0 stars)

Regs didnt prevent it, and you are fooling yourself if you think it ever will.
    (32 days ago, 1 stars)

I wasn't going to read the report, frankly I'm just not that interested. All politicians are narcissistic ego maniacs, wouldn't be in the business otherwise.
    (33 days ago, 2 stars)

Have to admit, I have some mixed feelings on JJ
    (42 days ago, 0 stars)

Interesting article, at least to me...
    (61 days ago, 0 stars)

100%. That is the very thing causing the whole conf to tank is inabillity to win meaningful OOC games.
    (65 days ago, 1 stars)

I’ll be first to admit that I didn’t expect it and we don’t deserve it but missing NIT too stings.
    (66 days ago, 3 stars)

Stated another way, its possible that if all wealthy people could buy their kids into schools of their choice, the schools might expand and be able to actually accept MORE qualifying low income students.
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

And to add insult to injury...
    (69 days ago, 2 stars)

I would also add that I think I am probably a bigger fan of rule of law than even you are, and because of that, my perspective is different in this way:
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

    Ouch, that was mean. :)
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

    I can work with that...
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

I think it's kind of funny that Legacy kids are viewed different than donor kids, for starters, or are we mad about them too?
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

It is frank, maybe fair, and fairly polite. I guess one of the differences between you and me is that I tend to look at why something happens, rather than jumping to a value judgement against the perpetrator.
    (69 days ago, 0 stars)

I'm amazed by how triggered some of you are because people are willing to pay to get their kids into universities.
    (69 days ago, 1 stars)

Sounds like your point is in dispute according to the article so perhaps stating as a fact is not appropriate?
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

That is an awesome point, i think of the adaptive cruise of which i’m a huge fan
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

Thank you, very interesting. Its always a good day when you learn something new.
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

Link? Seems like that would have been under the 'critical' category.
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

Interesting, makes sense. However I wonder if foriegn countries have same access/understanding to diagnostics and to plug/play parts.
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

It's not a surprise, however I look at it the same way I look at free speech...
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

Easier to fly but harder to maintain and repair in many ways I suspect.
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

    Ah, classic.
    (70 days ago, 0 stars)

You make my point for me. Thank you
    (71 days ago, 1 stars)

You crack me up. That is NOT my starting point in fact its an argument i have NEVER made.
    (71 days ago, 0 stars)

Further, you are way wrong about class divide. America has had a very high class mobility, but its shrinking due to government.
    (71 days ago, 0 stars)

Not even close to what I’m saying, but I suspect you already know that.
    (71 days ago, 0 stars)

Another way to put it is this: Think about all the money that went into the pocket of these jackwagons when it could have went to the Universities.
    (71 days ago, 0 stars)

I haven't seen that reported yet, but the additional details I have seen are hilarious to me.
    (71 days ago, 0 stars)

I sync to ESPN700 so I don't have to listen to Walton. I can't stand him.
    (72 days ago, 1 stars)

Seems to be a pretty big 'IF', hasn't been the case for some time.
    (72 days ago, 0 stars)

At end of the day, government cant be the solution...
    (76 days ago, 1 stars)

That is a huge IF, but IF that comes to pass, I wouldn't be surprised to get an NIT bid.
    (79 days ago, 0 stars)

Agreed, and I scratch my head when they say ‘burying it back in the ground ”. Why would you do that ?!? Burn it for cripes sake, a CO2 nuetral energy source sounds like a better idea. All that said, I am wholly convinced this will eventually b
    (83 days ago, 0 stars)

That is an stupid argument. I believe this liar because the guy i dont like is a bigger liar. Jeez is this 3rd grade?
    (83 days ago, 1 stars)

Yeah they should vote for all those peacenik democrates like... uh... nothing to see here, just move along...
    (83 days ago, 0 stars)

Would be a great debate/discussion for another time but I believe this is probably a very narrow zero sum way of looking at the situation
    (83 days ago, 0 stars)

Not a supporter but come on, the man has no credibility and his statement is hyperbolic ridiculous speculation at best
    (83 days ago, 0 stars)

The naked bias of this article is annoying
    (83 days ago, 2 stars)

Neither here nor there but when Ron Paul ran, he received more campaign donations from active duty military than all other candidates combined...

A few quick thoughts on your thoughts
    (90 days ago, 0 stars)

I guess I'm still waiting for the money shot, so far this plethora of scandals seems like much ado about nothing
    (92 days ago, 0 stars)

I'm certainly not a Trump fan, but I also don't at all understand the logic of wishing for a recession just to defeat him.
    (92 days ago, 0 stars)

    Corporations don't really pay taxes
    (96 days ago, 0 stars)

I can't lie, this season to this point has far exceeded my expectations, there was a time not long ago that I openly questioned whether we would win a single game in conference. However that said...
    (96 days ago, 4 stars)

As if Democrats/Left don't have their own set of talking points
    (96 days ago, 0 stars)

So many implicit assumptions in this whole conversation, and if I had time I'd love to drill into them all with you and 96, but let me just simply address the 'I got mine so #%!@ you'
    (98 days ago, 0 stars)

And just to reinforce, the debt hit 22 Trillion Dollars today. :(
    (99 days ago, 0 stars)

Also, still playing devil's advocate, not sure what you do for a living or where you are in your career, but I have 25 years in industry and I don't think it would work the way you think it might.
    (99 days ago, 0 stars)

I am not really pro or con to Term Limits because I've heard all sides on this, and at this point I think there is reasons enough to think that they might help and they might hurt.
    (99 days ago, 1 stars)

And you are right probably that I am pissing in the wind because the vested interests in DC will never let that happen, they will keep us split, ignorant, sell us answers that are easy to consume, but completely unrealistic,
    (99 days ago, 1 stars)

I'm asking for a country that looks exactly like we actually follow our constitution that limits the federal government to certain limited and enumerated powers.
    (99 days ago, 2 stars)

"Anyone that would run for President isn't fit to hold the office" Don't remember who said it, but its so true, and more powerful the office, the more true this observation.
    (99 days ago, 0 stars)

I'm not sold on Herm, and don't know that much about Crystalball yet, but been annoyed by Peterson for years.
    (99 days ago, 0 stars)

The thing I think everyone is missing RE Nacua is that this isn't about him, it's about Peterson.
    (100 days ago, 4 stars)

    swing and a miss...
    (106 days ago, 0 stars)

This why I like debate, because we can have a back and forth
    (107 days ago, 0 stars)

Agree to disagree perhaps. On other, I think I was pretty clear but let me try again...
    (107 days ago, 0 stars)

Looks like I struck a nerve that generated some relevant questions and room for debate. Let's do that...
    (107 days ago, 0 stars)

Crazy how so many folks just refuse to engage in any debate or discussion on role of government.
    (107 days ago, 2 stars)

I was on the verge of giving Larry a little bit of credit for a turnaround only to be reminded yet again that he is only a little better than average as a coach.
    (110 days ago, 0 stars)

RE: What's the difference between socialism and communism? Second question... what part of "national socialists" is not also evil socialism?
    (111 days ago, 1 stars)

Yes, win the conference tourney. Otherwise, no, our OOC record is abysmal, and the conf OOC record was just as bad, so even a top 2 finish in conf does nothing for us.
    (111 days ago, 1 stars)

That said, I would think the Rand would not be keen on this being typed a 'hate crime', that is an unnecessary and dangerous categorization.
    (111 days ago, 1 stars)

That is an easy one, libertarians love rule of law meaning that the courts are there to protect life, liberty, & property.
    (111 days ago, 1 stars)

capitalism doesn't form monopolies, governments do
    (112 days ago, 0 stars)

Damn I love you Sir! It's so cool that you will actually offer salient thoughts on which to discuss rather than the dismissive bull$#!+. Let me bite...
    (112 days ago, 0 stars)

None of those things need to be supplied by the FEDERAL government.
    (112 days ago, 0 stars)

The implicit assumption in this whole discussion is that giving the government more money is a good thing.
    (112 days ago, 3 stars)

In fact, I always listen to Bill and Jimmy, and sync it to the TV feed, it's much more enjoyable than TV Jack-Wagons, especially Walton who is an idiot (IMHO).
    (118 days ago, 2 stars)

I use the ESPN700 app, Tune-In Radio works too.,
    (118 days ago, 0 stars)

I'm not sure what similar things you eluding too, but one common thread is government.
    (121 days ago, 1 stars)

We will simple have to agree to disagree in these points:
    (125 days ago, 0 stars)

And I guess my last point is that I work with some really awesome females and males, and none of this has one smidge of a relevance to the dealings of individuals in the world.
    (126 days ago, 0 stars)

And further, I think it is short sighted to think it developed over 'thousands of years', bearing in mind that typical gender roles likely go back much longer than birth of JC, millions might be more in the ballpark.
    (126 days ago, 0 stars)

Seems like you and I go through this every couple of months, I did not infer any such thing, I only commented on my perspective of words you used.
    (126 days ago, 1 stars)

I guess I'm not so sure that it's ever been true that they've been brought to justice.
    (126 days ago, 0 stars)

I don't think the sky is falling because I think everything will come out in the wash eventually, but I still am annoyed by the term 'gender construct'
    (126 days ago, 0 stars)

With the ultimate irony being that despite government and big business always conspiring to enrich themselves at the expense of the masses, the solution is always more government.
    (127 days ago, 0 stars)

I get a kick out of the idea that Trump confiscated notes from a Putin meeting. The same Putin that literally walked off with Belichick's superbowl ring while his thugs told him to forget about it, the ring is gone.
    (127 days ago, 0 stars)

I'm always up for a serious political discussion, but it's often a fruitless discussion because too many folks already take their first article of faith as a given.
    (128 days ago, 0 stars)

I am not a Trump supporter, and as you may already know, I would rather reduce the entire federal government to the limited enumerated powers, and screw both sides of the same rotten coin.
    (128 days ago, 3 stars)

It might not surprise you that I don't entirely agree :)
    (132 days ago, 0 stars)

I agree with others, lost 30# in 2017 and early 2018 just doing low carb low sugar, not full keto. Even though I've backslid in my diet, because of how I lost it, the weight is staying off.
    (132 days ago, 0 stars)

Yes, autoclave or a modern automated pressure cooker, it's science...
    (132 days ago, 2 stars)

One problem is that we refuse to acknowledge that there are some problems that can't be 'solved' by simple intervention.

I don't know that I consider the moon landing in the same light as most conspiracy theories.
    (159 days ago, 0 stars)

Of all the things in the world that most people don't even know exist, this one has the most potential to change life as we know it.
    (159 days ago, 1 stars)

I never even questioned the moon landing until I heard Joe Rogan talking about it on his podcast.
