Parking in big cities is atrocious. $70 a day in San Francisco just to stay at the home you’re already staying in. Public parking in tourist places can be $18/hr. The city can make a killing renting small patches of land over maintaining millions of miles of rail and machines.
Due to American unions and our ever inflating economy it simply costs America too much to build trains. They’re coming in some stretches but a national system might not ever happen
