saying the right things the right way on camera are high on the list. There have been posts on this site to that effect.
Presidential campaigns are reality tv, and people love plotting who to vote off the island and who to vote in. And these reality tv stars have whole teams dedicated to their game, with massive budgets.
All for a popularity contest with no contract to deliver or keep promises made. And so they break promises. Over and over and over and over... and people love that drama... better reality tv that way...
