What a lot of business owners can't comprehend is that investing in your company also means investing in your employees.
Many business owners believe, "if they aren't complaining about their compensation then they must be happy. Why should I give them a raise if they aren't asking for one?" A lot of employees think "why should I ask for a raise? That's puts me on the whiner list and if it comes to layoffs they'll ask me to go first."
I think full disclosure of everybody's pay is an honest answer to this.
The reality is the employee who makes the most noise will benefit the most when it comes to salaries.
