On the flip side: there seem to be articles every week on my news feed talking about the increases in homelessness.
Jobs are available but people working them still can't afford a place to live, in many cases.
Every year the percentage of income going to housing goes up. In the 70s the cost to rent/buy was something like 20% of the breadwinner's income. Now those costs are well above 50%, in some markets it closer to 75% or even higher. Once the economy does tank, the homelessness will become far worse. I have no idea what the solution is.
