How about CIA directors opining publicly about candidates? They're supposed to be strictly off-limits domestically, so would that also be of grave concern?

I agree, it's not great that foreign governments interfere in elections of other countries. But... that's the world we live in. Our government probably ranks #1 among all governments for interference in foreign elections, if such rankings were available. I'd wager on it.

I think we all* have a common interest in maximizing the skills required to discern truth from lie in everyone that votes, as that seems to me the most effective countermeasure to any shady influence from any source.

p.s. 100% agree on social media. It's unnecessary and does more harm than good, imo.
