I agree. The most important part of the BYU game? It will be over before September...

Last year's game was ridiculously bad timing - may it never be scheduled again in that week. The game didn't really matter, we had the PAC-South wrapped up, and the imbalance of motivation showed on the field, in the first half.

The streak, and Whittingham / Scalley / Ludwig's personal history with the game, and an internal program pride factor, should help sharpen the focus of fall camp.

"We don't lose to those guys"

Then two less intense weeks.

I would put the Cal game as more concerning, from a matchup scenario. Justin Wilcox had them playing better ball later in the year. Oregon State is in a ditch, but otherwise, every PAC game is both more important, and a tougher talent matchup.
