I agree it should be taught in school. Not as literature or science, but as part of world history, politics and psychology.

Unfortunately, I don't think, as a society, we have evolved enough to allow public school curriculum which introduces and teaches students the Bible from an objective, secular perspective, along with the Koran, and other religious books.

Close minded right wing religious nut jobs, AKA trump supporters, would go bat $#!+ crazy if an atheist or Muslim teacher was teaching the class.

LIkewise, there would be an endless parade of lawsuits by the ACLU for those situations where a teacher could help themselves and referred to the Bible as the "Word of God" and the product of divine inspiration, or in a teacher in Utah referring to the Book of Mormon as having been translated from golden plates by the Lord's profit.

Great idea. But, at this point, best just to leave it out of the public schools.
