This weekend's surprising results put an NIT bid back in play.

I believe the Utes have to win 10 conference games to get an NIT bid. That guarantees a winning conference record, and a winning record overall.

To review, here's the remaining schedule:
Home vs AU and ASU
at UW and WSU
at CU
Home vs USC and UCLA

Since the Utes have 7 conference wins they have to find 3 more wins in these 7 games. Prior to this weekend I thought wins at CU and WSU were likely, but now I am doubtful. I thought the Utes would be lucky to win 1 of the 4 home games remaining, but now a sweep seems possible. Now I see only 1 sure loss coming (at UW) and 6 coin toss games.

Utes must manage to win half of the coin toss games to earn an NIT bid. This weekend's results make it impossible to predict any individual game. It's going to be a fun ride!

My 2 cents.
