Hiring Ludwig makes a lot of sense--for Whittingham

Whit has made it clear he does not want to be coaching at age 65 or so. I believe he will coach for three more years, fulfilling his contract and hoping to become the all time winningest coach in UTE history. He will need to average about 7 wins a season to accomplish that. During those years, he will attempt to complete the UTES' transition to P5 status with a conference championship and trip to the Rose Bowl. Mission completed.

Enter Andy Ludwig, a known commodity and one that Whit trusts. Get him three more years of stable offense. At that point, Andy can compete with others for the head coaching position (assuming he has success and wants the challenge as he ages himself).

This just makes sense. From Whittingham's perspective.
