I'd recommend the Keto+carbs diet - basically you do the same thing you are doing, just eat lots more bacon and cheese.

To answer your question, I have done and am doing a diet somewhat similar to the Keto diet, but modified to be sustainable. I'm a believer that most diets fail because they aren't sustainable, so I looked for a diet that I could do into perpetuity and be pretty happy.

After losing the weight I wanted, basically I've just modified it to be a relatively low carb, lots of veggies and some fruit and meat diet. I don't eat a lot of grain and basically eat no processed sugar.

I don't miss sugar stuff at all, after being basically an addict - in fact for Christmas I ate some sugary stuff and it basically just made me feel like crap and gave me a massive headache.

The diet I did was the 21-Day Sugar Detox. Yes, I experienced withdrawals and the 21 days was hard, but after that it was pretty easy and sustainable. But I lost a significant amount of weight.
