Yesterday, I mentioned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a post that really had nothing to do with her, but rather focused on a piece of advice given to her.

I ended up spending a good amount of time arguing over AOC instead of the quote, when the fact of the matter is that I really don't know much about the woman to begin with. Here's what I do know: Republicans hate her, and have been tearing her apart over every little thing she says. They are absolutely appalled that we would elect somebody with such little political experience and knowledge of the issues. A few years back, I may have agreed, but we truly are living in a different world now.

Where do any of you GOP members get the balls to bash a politician for lack of knowledge on key issues, and no real political experience? It's uncanny how you are able to pretend that we don't have a reality show host living in the White House who refuses to learn about any topic of national or foreign concern, and brushes off the advice of his advisers and the intelligence communities.

Hell, even seasoned politicians seem to know next to nothing on some of the biggest issues of our day, yet have no problem voting on them regardless. Some of them don't seem to understand how a progressive tax system operates, as evidenced by comments about AOC wanting to take 70% of your money, and just last year Paul Ryan demonstrated how he lacks even a rudimentary understanding of how health insurance works.

So spare me your horror stories about AOC and her "rampant ignorance", as one pundit put it. All you guys do is peddle fear and divisiveness. That's how we ended up in this current mess with Trump, and it's ultimately what led to AOC being elected, so you created your own monster. This is not an endorsement for AOC, and our problems are far bigger than any one politician.
