Another mass shooting...

The question is where does the right to own guns override citizens rights to live life without fear of being shot at random.

I ask this because the reality for my children is active shooter drills at school and witnessing the school being like Fort Knox just to keep them safe. If I want to enter my children's school know I have to be buzzed in.

My two daughters are scared. To an 8-year-old explanations about probability aren't very comforting but I also don't want to tell them it could never happen in our neighborhood. It makes me pretty sad to sit up with my daughter at night because she is worried.

And I'm not even an opponent to gun ownership.

But we do nothing. NOTHING. Not even the slightest and easiest things to prevent this sort of thing. Nothing changed after Columbine, nothing changed with Clinton, GWB, Obama and Trump and I have no reason to believe anything will happen in the future. Republican politicians were gunned down in DC and that didn't even move the needle.
