Reading the NCAA bylaws we could only schedule 29

Youre allowed 27 games and an exempt tournament of up to 4 games

Or 29 games total.

So to get 31 games wed have had to play in an 8 team exempt tournament, we played the MGM Main Event instead

SigEpUte icon NEW: Why did Krystkowiak only schedule a total of 29 games this year?

Puget Ute icon NEW: I didn't realize we only scheduled 29 games. That is stupid. Ironically, two of our preseason OOC games against teams with RPI in the high 300s will likely tank our chances to go to the NCAA unless we win the PAC tournament.

Puget Ute icon NEW: Our OOC has killed us too many times. We would be better off in an RPI sense to lose to a top 50 RPI team, than we would be to beat a 320+ RPI team. (nm)

utefansince79 icon NEW: Several more games in "quadrants 1 or 2", even if some are losses, look better than a bunch of wins in "quadrants 3 and 4"

o NEW: Right. And the committee has validated that a few times.

Puget Ute icon NEW: I think ASU is a good example. They are a bubble team because they had big wins over Kansas and Xavier, and had decent wins over SDSU and St Johns, despite falling apart in conference play (7-9 conference, 19-9 overall).

TheJuggernaut icon NEW: We've actually had decent OOC SOSs in recent years, this year (#71) isn't as bad as last year (#139), but 2015-16 was #25, and 2014-15 was #9.

Red Don icon NEW: We played a not-so-good UNLV and got our asses kicked and made them look like an NBA team.
