Last time that I checked it certainly wasn't much cheaper than the alternatives for decent speeds. It does provide some competition in the market that is lowering prices all around. I also like to use my own equipment. Last time I checked they required the use of their Google gear. Even Comcast will allow you purchase and use your own router and modem, cause their equip is junk. Saves you from renting. They are actually running into the the same problems that the other telecoms are with rolling out Internet. It is a difficult issue to tackle.

And if I do go this route, I hope to use the service that Xmission mentions to maintain my privacy thru encryption in the blog below.

Anyway enjoy the fast pipe!

Diehard Ute icon NEW: You doing their TV/Gigabit package? Their 100MB price is way too high. (nm)

H-man icon NEW: Yeah tv and gigabit. $150/month. Which is less than what I pay Comcast, but I rarely get better than 10 down. It's aggravating and everytime they "fix" anything, it's worse and they charge me more. (nm)

Diehard Ute icon NEW: I get 180 down, and the Internet portion is less than Google's 100. Of course Google isn't coming anywhere close to me so hey. (nm)

H-man icon NEW: In my case, the number 1 contributing factor isn't cost, but giving a middle finger to Comcast.
