It's tough to believe either side. I do know this much, trade wars are not good and not easy to win. (nm)

You and your pesky facts. Trump didn't do the TPP deal, so therefore he thinks it's a bad deal. That seems to be his MO on all deals. (nm)

As your video pointed out Big Oil, the auto makers and aviation don't want high speed rail It would cut into their profitability but I think it's coming as the older baby boomers die off

As an older boomer, why wait for me and my contemporaries to die off to build high speed rail? If it makes sense, I will support it. I'm a radical pragmatist. (nm)

Any idea of what the author's background is? I read that and he seems compelled to maintain the status quo with a few tweaks that may or may not help reduce our carbon footprint

The view here is too little too late, not that high speed rail is a bad idea or waste of money. That was not my read at all.

A question for the guys on the left here: Would you trade one less term of Obama for Romney if it meant Trump was never President and Romney's second term was coming to an end? (nm)

Just an interesting thought for me - maybe another way to put it is if you could see in a crystal ball in 2012 and realized that Romney losing meant Trump would be our president, would you (or could you) vote for Romney to prevent that? (nm)

I would probably have voted for McCain had he not selected Palin as his running mate. That selection suggested to me that McCain was willing to move from a center-right position beyond the far right into the cuckoo right. (nm)

And now we have Pence a heartbeat away. Not much better, but I guess he wouldn't be substantially different than Trump. Whereas Palin would have been a dramatic departure from McCain. (nm)
