I think you would get a lot more support if this was a quid pro quo compromise with de-escalating the armament of domestic governmental forces. Things tend to snap when there is insufficient balance for too long.

Maybe it wouldn't affect most, I can't speak for anyone other than myself. I would be more supportive if this were part of it. I suspect there would be a percentage of others who also would and it could be measured through polling if it were proposed

There was an armed guard at Parkland. He never saw the shooter. There was an armed guard at Pulse Nightclub, same result. There was a mass shooting at Ft. Hood freakin' ARMY BASE who killed a dozen and survives to this day. (nm)

At the school where my wife teaches the outside doors are locked at all times. They get unlocked or opened by a supervising teacher in the morning when kids arrive at school and during recess otherwise you can't get in. The main doors to the school
