Utah Alumni Event last night in Kansas City.

Had a conversation with Chris Hill regarding Utah Athletics:

    1. Kyle Whittingham leaving? Nope. If that were the case, Gary Andersen would probably be heading to Utah, not OSU. "If we asked Gary to be our coach he'd come."

    2. BYU: "They've got themselves in a bad situation. I get asked all the time (by media) about why we don't help BYU out by playing them. Well, I've got no sympathy for them. They are a business rival as well as an athletic rival. Does a business rival help sustain a rival?? When opportunities come up to play a series (Michigan), you take it." He was very happy when Utah got invited to the Pac12 and that BYU wasn't. They weren't a package deal. Apparently Tom Holmoe asked if the two schools could at least play basketball, that BYU needed it for their fan base. Of course this year's game was slated for today but was moved to Wednesday to make room for the KU game. Might be an indicator of which game we value more and BYU's willingness to play whenever we want to.

    From Coach K:
    1. Delon Wright nearly jumped to the NBA after last season and actually told Larry he was leaving. His heart sunk and was afraid there was no reversing that decision. Larry made a list of reasons to stay and sat down with Delon for two hours going over the list. At the end Delon told him, "Ok coach, you've convinced me. I'm staying."

    2. Jordan Loverage is doing well, practicing with the team and is nearly 100% right now. He'll be ready to go in January.

(This pic is from the Utah Alumni Twitter page. I'm posting it because I'm in it.)
