I've been thinking about this, and usually I'm a pretty decent sport about sports. They're entertainment. I can enjoy a good game even in defeat most of the time. But when it comes to BYU, it's different. There is nothing I like more than seeing Utah smack them around. In second place is anyone else smacking them around. It's strange. I want them hurt. I want them to be humiliated. I want every hit to be like the hit put on Ronny Jenkins in last year's game. I want to feel the same thrill I felt at my first Utah/BYU game in 1978 when Gomez to Henry won the game for the good guys.
I feel tense and focussed throughout a contest with the Zoobs. My language deteriorates. I stomp around and mutter curses under my breath. I don't want to hate, but I can't help but hate them.
I'm going down to Zoobieland for the first time in years this Saturday. I feel as if I'm headed into the dark netherworld of Happy Valley to face a great battle. The heros in red will be outnumbered, but the anticipation of being able to win there drives me to go. This will be fun!
Go Utes!!!

Your #1 thing is Utah beating BYU. Your #2 is BYU getting beat by anybody else.
I guess the third best thing for you on a Saturday in fall is for Utah to beat a team besides BYU.
Ute fans that's the big difference between the two schools. Most of us don't give a rat's a** what you do when we're not playing. And we would NEVER get more satisfaction from a Ute loss than a BYU win.
All UTE FANS ARE OBSESSED WITH BYU!!

It was interesting listening to Partial Paul James at the end of the Wyo/BYU game last Saturday. He was describing the scene on the field as the goal posts came down. His words were something along the lines of, "It's hard to decribe just how much these Wyoming fans detest the team they just beat." Perhaps you all should look in the mirror for a while and see if you can tell the cause.
I'd offer up it's primarily because you claim one thing (smugly holier than everyone else, well behaved, innocent, etc.) and yet the facts indicate another (your fans throw crap at opposing teams and fans, your teams curse in foreign languages so they don't get caught, etc.). Maybe if you'd just fess up that you're down in the muck with everyone else people would have more respect for you. Hypocracy has a way of turning people against you.
Here's to the Utes on Saturday!
Go UTES!!!!
