Last week, I was looking forward to the release of SimCity 5...

today, not so much. I've been reading about it and it seems great and all, but the only way to play it will be to play it online. No offline play.

I'm not into online gaming, so can someone tell me about it? How secure is it? Would I be able to just play the game and not have to deal with anyone online?

SeaTacUte icon NEW: OK - I just checked their website and glanced through the forums. Yes, you can play completely on your own, but will still be connected.

PDXUtefan icon NEW: As SeaTac said, almost all modern video games (PC) require an online connection to validate your copy of the game. It has nothing to do with playing online with other people, it's just a means to reduce piracy and apply updates quicker. (nm)
