Haha too funny soft coug... Thinking the high ups in the church aren't paid. Just because they can get people to work for free at the low levels of the church ie: bishops, stake pres. etc doesn't mean the high ups aren't bringing home the bread...

Just think about this for a second. If you were a high up in a business that brings in billions of dollars a year wouldn't you make sure you were bringing home a pretty penny? This is how the world works. The church is a very LARGE business. The church is a bigger corporation then they are a church. They bring in billions and billions just from tithe payers. Then they use the tithe to buy/build businesses, buy real estate, invest in the stock market etc. Trust me the high ups are making a lot of money. Millions and millions each.

My father in law is high up in the church's accounting/audit department and he has told me (in confidence of course) that the high ups are very very well paid... I won't go into details. Lets just say that there aren't many high ups that aren't millionaires. The church keeps its books secret for a reason. They don't want all the members knowing they are raking in the money.

This is why I sometimes call the church "The corporation of jesus christ of latter day saints". I don't say this to bash the church. It's just the facts. The church is a very successful and big business. I applaud that. You don't just throw down 2-3 billion to build city creek mall if you aren't a big corporation. I just wish I was the fellow that invented a business that people (most people at least) worked for you for free, cleaned your buildings for free etc. and then gave 10% of all the money they make to your business all the while being mostly tax exempt! This is genius! Serious... I'm thinking about starting my own religion and doing the same model as the LDS church but incorporating a MLM scheme into it. So if you convert members you take a small portion of the tithe paid each year. I think this religion could blow up here in Utah for obvious reasons. Anybody interested in being my first bishop?

o NEW: I don't know about Utah employees, but I do know that the President of BYU is a long-time Crimson Club member. I'd say his paycheck is significantly greater than whatever your utah employee byu fan is pulling in. (nm)

o NEW: The President of BYU isn't paid? It's church calling? hmmmm...learn something new every day. I guess I was wrong then. Regardless, I'd say there are probably a lot of U employees that are byu fans and probably some byu employees that are U fans.
