You can learn a lot about the difference between Utah's and BYU's fanbases by reading the Deseret News website today

As you undoubtedly know, John White and Star Lotulelei from Utah and Riley Nelson from BYU were named to the Maxwell Award pre-season watch list. Congrats to all of them, even though being named to a pre-season watch list means very little.
In the Deseret News, there's one article on Wolfman and Star being named and another article on Nelson being named.
The most-liked comment on the Wolfman/Star article says this:
Well earned preseason accolades; however, it is on the field the awards are earned. Have great years and let the awards come after the season. The Utah football team is on all Utah fan's "watch list" in person for home games and on PAC-12 network (or others) for away games.
Go Utes!
OTOH, the most-liked comment on the Riley Nelson article says this:
I think Riley should also be in the Heisman conversation.
Go Cougs.
The contrast here is very telling IMO.
