So what religion are fans being persecuted for when that type of behavior (and much, much worse) occurs at a Michigan vs. Ohio State game?

I think zoobs have been conflating typical college football fandom with religious persecution for decades. I know BYU was late to the game, waiting until 1972 to discover football, but one would think 40 years would be long enough to figure out the difference between bigotry and sports. I guess when a fan base is whacked enough to believe that God - the God - is on the side of their football team and no others, one should expect their narcissistic insanity to spill over into everything else.
