Here's how I see it.

We play 9 Pac games and a B1G game every year. And as much as byu fans want to argue that the Pac-12 isn't very good, the truth is, Washington State and Oregon State(2 of the WEAKEST teams in the Pac-12 last year) are 2 of byu's BEST/STRONGEST opponents this year. Our schedule year in and year out will always be tremendously more difficult than byu's.

They can scream and shout about how they aren't running from anyone, but that's only because nobody is chasing them. There schedule is guaranteed to have a minimum of 6 non-BCS/cupcake type teams every year. They can afford to try to schedule tough teams because they are DESPERATE for games of any significance.

Utah already has at least 10 significant games every single season. If trying to balance out the 10 difficult games we face each year means we need to find a couple of lesser opponents, then so be it because that is the prudent thing to do.

And I say this as someone who wants to keep the rivalry going.

Agent47 icon NEW: Some here know i was out of state for the rivalry game last year so I missed the misery of TDS fans in the aftermath.

Chad Sexington icon NEW: Is someone saying that UTAH is scared to play a team that last year couldn't cut the lead to less than SIX touchdowns? Is there anyone seriously making this claim? (nm)

Chad Sexington icon NEW: Pay no attention to the rants of small minded green eyed monsters. Can you imagine their attitudes if the roles were reversed between us?

Agent47 icon NEW: This is where I get hung up, I was raised an Ohio State fan. When I came to Utah, because I was LDS and not from here I instantly hated the BYU mentality, but in Ohio when you address a big blue fan with scoreboard they tuck tail and walk away.

Agent47 icon NEW: Hadn't seen it, and that is hilarious and terrifyingly accurate. Although in some houses the kid would be the one flying out the window (nm)

UTEopia icon NEW: I know that we put a serious beat down on them last year, but I think everyone needs to remember that we were up 17-10 in the third quarter when they started to give us the ball every way possible and then gave up. That will probably not happen

o NEW: It was actually 21-10 after the first drive of the 3rd quarter, but you make a good point.

rbentz icon NEW: I think it will be closer than last year's game but if you seriously cannot see talent differences in the players over the last 5-6 years you need to have your eyes checked.

o NEW: No kidding. Hate to say it, but Heaps had much more raw talent than Riley Nelson. Heaps has a much stronger arm, just needed more time to adjust to the speed at this level. (nm)

SoCalPat icon NEW: Well, truth be told, if all miracle wins don't count, then we straight-up lost the 2010 matchup
