See, this is what completely baffles me about this mindset

For years, the worst thing you could say about a Utah fan was that he wasn't a Utah fan first, but a BYU hater.

Now that we're largely disassociated from them, why on god's green earth do we view everything through a BYU prism?

I understood the us vs. the world mentality with regard to the polls, the BCS and national relevance, but I for the life of me cannot fathom why that same mentality exists with regard to the issue of media treatment of Utah by the SLC media.

It seems like many fans want the Utes to be covered like the LDS Church is by the D-News. Fawning, apologetic and completely immune of any scrutiny.
