Here is what I don't get about Mata's post on returners.......

Griff had a very solid year. I recall 2 fumbles and one was in the snow (was there more, I honestly do not remember more?).

Point being, I'm sure there are faster guys. I'm sure there are taller and stronger guys. But NO ONE has shown bigger BALLs than Griff at the position for a long time. Steveon being the only one I remember.

He has sure hands and isn't afraid to catch the damn ball. To me, that's huge in that role.

I get Mata was playing the 'what if' game, so I won't bust his balls like I did on all the walk on $#!+. It's obvious he cares about the Utes and so I'll cut him some slack. But if I'm Whit, Griff is my guy.

NEW: No arguments there. But having sat through many seasons up there, I can tell you that nothing kills a team faster than playing great D, forcing a punt and then fumbling it and giving it right back to them. To me good hands on the returning end is (short)

NEW: WRONG! Shaky did his damage against the MWC 1AA schools and Iowa State etc. Rule #1 (which is catch and secure the damn ball) is way ahead of rule #2 (get positive yards) I'll take Griff every game thank you ver much. (nm)
