I agree. And I've been wondering all along why this is so upsetting to people that it has no effect on.

Every day someone quits their current job for a better opportunity. Is it because this is football that they outcry has been so great?

I don't feel bad for anyone involved. There are far worse things going on in the world.

Some people are reacting as though this is a tragedy. They are asking, "But what about the players, what about the coaching staff?"

Big damn deal. Every day I have to get my ass out of bed and go to work to support a family of five and I've been laid off before. I've been in low-paying jobs. I'm in a single income family and I'm putting myself through school. I see no tragedy in that so I fail to see any tragedy in this news.

o NEW: 99% of the people in this world would take that job that pays more. Especially at the age of 63. (nm)

o NEW: JL Smith may be less than honorable, but Arkansas could be a top five program with Alabama and LSU both at home. it is a once in a lifetime oppty; you cant pass that up--especially someonw who wants redemption after getting humiliated at MSU. (nm)

Hammer icon NEW: Agree. Run the John L. Smith integrity argument past Jim Boylen and Coach Giac and see what they would say. Bottom line, we live in a free market society, let the job earners work where, how, and at what they may choose. (nm)

o NEW: What r u talking about. Both coahes had "time" to get their teams straight. Both coahes we bought out with "hefty" payments. Neither coach had to get food stamps to survive. What, John L. was afraid of getting fired from his alma mater? (nm)

Hammer icon NEW: I'll tell you what your talking about. Your saying its ok to get fired but not ok to quit...Did John L. Smith honor his contract? No. Only for 5 months. Did the University of Utah honor the contracts to Boylen and Giac all the way to the end? No.

o NEW: The fear of ARod being hired on at Weber I guess? That is the only negative I see here. But ARod as soon as next season could get D1 colleges offering him. (nm)

o NEW: NO DISAGREEMENT! John L. has always rubbed me the wrong way. He thought ball punching Ma'a'fala was not big deal. Wondered what Utah was whining about.

o NEW: Unless you have never, ever left a situation for a better one, you can't fault Smith. Good for him. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. He would be crazy to not take it. For the same reason, Roderick would be crazy if he isn't on the

o NEW: False. You're logic is flawed. Because you have never recruited "kids" to buy into you and your program, and then turned and walked away on them. After preaching loyalty to the team. I don't begrudge him for wanting something better. But nobody put

o NEW: If this happened to our fan base we'd be going after DB Smith hard. He's a lying, sack of crap. His Lousiville players found out he left them in the middle of their bowl game. What a #ussy. Here's to a 6-6 record for the Pigs this year. That AD is
