480ute icon NEW: They're also moving touchbacks out to the 25. Will this cause some teams to try and put the ball just outside of the endzone knowing they have a good shot of stopping returners before they reach the 25 yard line? I think so. (nm)

480ute icon NEW: Oh yeah, oh yeah! Well, we will see mister smarty pants. Just kidding. We should bookmark this though, and see what the touchback stats look like at the end of the season. (nm)

480ute icon NEW: I think the Rutgers player who was paralyzed a few years back was a big reason for them to change the rule. I haven't even seen the statistics, but I know that his name has been brought up a lot in this debate. (nm)

480ute icon NEW: Not diminishing Cox's injury, but Legrand was paralyzed, and it occurred during an NCAA game.. (nm)

GarthUte icon NEW: If the NCAA really wants to prevent injury, then it should either change from playing tackle football to flag football or just stop playing football altogether. Injuries suck, but they are a part of the sport. (nm)

o NEW: Cowherd was talking about this. Troy Aikman was asked if he would put his boys into football. He said he wouldn't encourage them to play football but wouldn't say no if they wanted to.

o NEW: Parents need to toughen up. More kids get serious head trauma in kicky ball than in football. My boy is 5, if he wants, he will play tackle football. Sometimes its good to get your A$$ roughed up and challange yourself. Hell, my kid could be spinning

o NEW: Seriously? Kids need to toughen up? Wow. We aren't talking broken bones or sprained ankles. We are talking brain damage. Spinal cord injuries. Not sore on a rainy day stuff. (nm)

480ute icon NEW: Does the NCAA test for HGH? We could just feed that stuff to all the players, and after a while their heads will be so big they won't be able to find a loose enough helmet. (nm)

o NEW: Against Pitt they actually broke his helmet. This will be used against RB's now to get them out of the game. I do agree with it still.
