African-American is hardly used anymore? I've seen it used on this board several times in recent months, and it's used in the news daily.

I have never called somebody black, and had them get upset with me. I have never met any black person that it offended. I think it offends guilty white people worse than black people. That is the root of your political correctness. Like I said before, I believe the only thing it does is differentiate and separate Americans, which is exactly the opposite effect it intended. Call me a dumbass all you want (which you basically insinuated), but that isn't gonna change a thing. BTW, I'm not obsessed with the African-American thing, I just use it as an example.
As far as jokes that happen to involve a stereotype, or fact about race, there are some funny ones. Call me a racist if it makes you feel better, but I will continue to laugh at them. Let me ask you this. We were talking about Blazing Saddles in chat last night, and everybody seemed to think it was hilarious. Does that make us racists?
I try not to offend people, but realistically you can't make everybody happy all the time. I don't use racial slurs to insult people, and I have never acted negatively, or positively towards someone based on the color of their skin. I just feel like I have to draw the line somewhere when it comes to trying not to offend anybody. Some of the stuff that offends people, such as calling somebody black, is ridiculous. I will go so far, but at some point it gets tedious. This is obviously not a black and white issue (no pun intended). There is a lot of gray area here.
I'm really done this time. You can call me an ignorant, racist, dumbass all you want now, and I will not respond.
