Bunch of rambling thoughts from a man with a nasty Football Jones

- Dangit, I hate this time of year. Football is close enough that you can smell it, but you can't partake of it just yet. Luckily I'll be able to partake a bit earlier this year as the official Ute site is stating that fall practice is open to the public. Oh, of course this will also mean that I'll be needing a new job come September. Anyone out there need a marketing genius who'll be out of the office a lot during April and August?

- OK, kids, test time...Who can tell me the difference between these two quotes?

Take your time, this one's a bit tricky.

- Is anyone else concerned that we have 5 RB's who squat and bench more than our back-up Left Tackle? Or, does that mean that I should just be less concerned about our FB position?

- I was listening to sports radio yesterday - I know, I'm a glutton for punishment - nevertheless, the guy was calling out Ute fans because only Zoobies were calling. No one called. Now, I don't know if it's because Ute fans aren't listening, or if it's because there aren't any, or if it's because the last thing Ute fans want to do is allow themselves to get excited about our team. We've just been burned one too many times, and it's embarassing to come out and make a public ass of yourself only to have your team melt-down yet again. At least that's why I didn't call.

- We lost 3 conference games by a total of 6 points last year. I'm so sick of seeing stats like that. At least in '96 when we got beat, we got absolutely lit up. It's not like we had the title in our sights and just couldn't pull it out...but that's neither here nor there. Mac had better dang well find those 6 points this year. I'm sick of coming close.
