Football musings (long)

I've been thinking about how much I miss old RES. Something charming about the bleachers in the north end zone and walking in the tunnel behind the team. Did you ever play nerf football in the south end zone or get into a game free for wearing your little league jersey. I used to sit in the large planter boxes with the pine trees in the GA section. I better quit, I'm getting misty.

Am I the only one who thinks the U lost a huge PR opportunity when Bubbles retired. There could have been a celebrity Bubbles for every game (sorta like the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley). Somehow I could see Frank Layden in drag shaking his booty, on second thought maybe I'll choose someone else.

So, the football wasn't all that great when I was a child, but the atmosphere was the best. Last season I sat with my daughter at the side of the student section and thought, "Wow, this team is soooo fun to watch, I can't believe that any sane person would rather spend a Saturday afternoon/evening anywhere else" (excepetion - I was a tie wearing fan that showed up for the 4th quarter of S. Florida, duty called).

Man, one more month. I won't miss a moment this year. I'm going to Michigan and USU! The more games the better and I hate to even put this out in the universe, but we should be even more fun to watch this year. And as Tom has always said, UTAHBY5!
