Chronic Kicker's Disease a.k.a. Whetmanitis

On a lighter note did anyone notice how badly the Air Force kicker (Adams) missed that last extra point?

Well I have a theory about it. After several hours of being on the same field with Whetman, I think Adams developed "Chronic Kickers Disease" (CKD), commonly known as "Whetmanitis".

Medical experts have long argued about how CKD (a serious disease that only affects kickers) is spread.

But after Saturday's game, this much is known:
1) Whetmanitis is contagious.
2) It now appears that simply being on the same field with an infected kicker poses danger to other kickers.

What remains to be seen is whether Adams actually contracted Whetmanitis (as is the case with both Utah kickers), or simply the less serious TWS (Temporary Whetman Syndrome).

New info on Whetmanitis

The worst thing about this Steve Smith thing is that it has distracted me from any Whetman bashing. So let me get back on task.

Just for fun, I looked up the statistics of the opposing team's kickers, to see how they did the week following the game with us. (In other words, does Whetmanitis last more than a week?) Here’s what I found:

All three kickers (from Arizona, Cal, and Washington State) missed every single field goal they attempted the next game! I'm not making this up, you can check it out for yourself. (In addition, the WSU kicker missed an extra-point kick as well.)

If my theory holds true, look for Air Force to have a horrendous kicking game against UNLV next week. With a serious case of Whetmanitis, I predict their kicker will go 0-2 in field goals and have 1 blocked punt. Also, it wouldn't surprise me to see him misplace his helmet. :)

Sorry for the levity, but we need something to laugh about these days.
