We are all wondering which two or more games the Utes will blow down the stretch that will deprive them of the MWC championship.
Admit it. You know that I am right!
We don't have these feelings in basketball season, just football. We are never sure about a win until after a game is won, because we never know what team will show up. No game is a sure thing.
Maybe this will be the year that the Utes defy their long history of blown games and actually win the MWC.

I do wonder which two games Utah will lose, but I wouldn't consider them "blown" games. I'm just not that impressed with the team this year. I don't THINK they will win the MWC this year (but I still BELIEVE they will).
The offensive line is a big disappointment, and it reflects upon the whole unit. I know they're banged up right now, hopefully they'll get better when White and Cochrane return. The defensive secondary and special teams have kept the Utes alive. I don't know how many more games we can continue to count on great kick returns and positive turnover margins.
at WSU: The Utes won because the defense forced 5 turnovers or so. That was the only major difference statistically, IIRC.
vs USU: ditto, Jay Hill's two interceptions are the major difference in the game, USU won on most stats.
at UNLV: The Rebels didn't know how to tackle. I could have run for 100 yards on them, too. Prediction: BYU will run for 250 and pass for 250 on them this week.
at BSU: The defense played five poor minutes and the Utes lost. Offense accomplishes absolutely nothing until the last five minutes. Croshaw provided a late boost to keep the score "respectable". Too bad he didn't start this game because I think he would have done better.
vs LMU: Croshaw came in
and we saw a few new wrinkles in the offense.
It would look promising except that ULM is the absolute worst D-I football
program.
at AFA: Probably the best game all year for the team, yet the big plays remain a kick return, fumble recovery and interception. It's about time Darnell connected on a downfield pass, though. He should play in snow all the time.
Despite what I said above about Croshaw, I'm happy if Darnell starts this week. There will be alot of Aztec defenders in the backfield. The key to the game will be his ability to scramble and make plays on the fly. Mike Anderson will get nowhere because SDSU has the badass front 7 and you know they'll be stacking the box against the Utes, so it's up to Darnell to spread the field and make plays under pressure.
On that note, I'll stop thinking now and go back to believing.

I feel pretty damn good about this year's Utes.
Why???
They haven't jelled yet and they're still winning.
In years past, the heartbreaking games were during Sept. and Oct., yet
the Utes would find the right combination and put together a string of
wins during November to salvage the season. Look for the Utes to put the
whole package together again, very shortly. Also, I believe Utah's defense
will keep the team competitive in every game down the stretch. Just as
Rick Majerus preaches, "Defense wins championships," I believe this year's
defense has the cahoonas to make it happen. Call me a homer but that's
what I feel.
