Well......that was great! congrats to the footballall utes and ronnie mac. Execution, enthusiasm and effort!!! Way to go team!!! Can we finally start talking about coaching changes?

I stated weeks ago that I would cease speculation if the U with McBride could win the MWC. They controlled their own destiny going into the final 3 games and now it appears that our beloved neighbors to the south have it wrapped up. We can now all admit that the only bowl that the U is going to play in this year is the BYU Bowl.

For those of you that want to once again begin throwing out possible names of coaches, go ahead. I would like a good laugh......that is about all I can do when it comes to the U football team.

Utah Football SUCKS!

My stomach is turning too. This is the most pathetic looking bunch I've ever seen. The play calling is horrible, the D's been on the field the entire 2nd half, and Chris Hill is making his X-mas list as we speak.

I hate to piss of Anasazi, Ancient, et. al., but Mac is gone. It's amazing how most teams play a little better as the season progresses, but Utah alway seems to get a little worse. I don't want to take anything away from Wyo, they came out in the second half and handed the Utes a large dose of whoop-ass.

This team showed little heart tonight, the first half said it all. Dropped pass after dropped pass, 5 or so carries for Anderson, and blocking that looks like a group assembled at the VA ten minutes before kickoff.

Thank God for basketball!

U fill in the blanks because this foosball team has a lot of blankety blank blank problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to know if it looked really bad on TV because it was even worse in person.

I salute Wyoming and their staff for making adjustments and kicking the goats asses all over the field.

If MAC does not do something about the Tommy Lee problem it is time for a wholesale change. Clean house top to bottom. The offense is responsible for the defenses colapse. We saw a lot of the same shit again with delay of games, partly due to the fact the f---ing signals take so long to get to the QB,personal fouls etc... Smith running his grill early in the game after a good block, and later after he made a spectacular catch giving throat slashing gestures towards the WYO bench. Hey Stevonne, SCOREBOARD and maybe your attitude is why you were passed up by a lot of D1 schools. Play the game with intensity not stupidity.

Nice way to set up your QB for a fall TL. It is 20 to 17 and the Utes have the ball on the 9 yard line. What play do you call? run left good for 3 or 4 yards. now what? run right no gain! how creative and imaginitive. Now you have to throw and here come the Cowboys in a stampede after Arceneaux. 2 points for the pokes.

Always playing not to lose instead of playing to win. nice philosophy to have when your job is on the line.

This is bullshit and I am tired of it. I am really questioning whether this team is overrated and is not really that talented at all! If anyone thinks that the Utes will beat the ZOOBZ on the 20th please try to convince me because I think it will be ugly!

GO GOATS WAY TO LOSE TO THE SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!

The anti-mac's caught hell for wanting him gone...

And it isn't just one game that makes us feel that way. You are correct about Lee, he just can't call anything creative. Until the Utes get an offensive scheme that throws to the TE and RB, you will see the same stagnant predictable offense. Timmy Chang would be a dumbass to come to Utah under the current conditions, and I predict you won't see him here again unless his team plays West HS.

mac won't make any wholesale changes because he's too damn loyal. It's time for Chris Hill to take charge, I hope he payed close attention to that game last night, because I think you're going to see some heads on the chopping block now.

Hill better be making a list right now, and the day the season is over, SEE YA! I know I'll piss off many on this board, but as I have stated before, I've felt this way since last year and it isn't based on one game performances.

BTW, say what you want about other teams running their mouths and getting celebration penalties, etc. but it just doesn't happen much during the other games I watch. Today I watched a very good Wisconsin/ Purdue game and these teams make a big play and they act like they've done it before. I think one problem with this Utah team is they think they're the damn Seminoles. After every big play they act like a bunch of assholes and I hate that behavior no matter which team is doing it.

This season has been disappointing to say the least, and I still can't believe how Utah gets worse as the season progresses vs. most other teams that improve. See CSU, Washington, UNLV, and even UNM. Say what you want about Neuheisel, but look at what he's doing in his first year with a program that was really struggling. I would love to see the Utes bring in a young guy like that with an offensive background to mix things up a little.

Sorry, had to vent.

I was able to catch some of the game last night...

It was very strange! Do they always play...how can I put this? Disjointed? There is NO cohesiviness on the field or off. There would be one good play, and then some stupid junior high level mistake. I about died when the U's QB almost created TWO touch-backs.

Keep in mind that I live & breath Big 10 & 12 competition, pride & tradition, so please forgive me if I can not understand the quality of play that I witnessed. It was much like watching high school football.

BUT you CAN'T blame it ALL on the coaches!!!!! (As some would like) By now the players should know when to get on the field and off. They should know that when the whistle blows, you don't swing your opponent around until he drops. NOR can you blame the fact that your QB (who has a great arm) throws bombs AT the numbers, and your receivers drop the ball. However I did see 1 or 2 caught, but 2 or 3 dropped.

It would appear that there is no "united, brotherly" effort between coaching staff AND team to work together. The woman's intuition tells me that the "problem" you have with the football team is at its heart! That is not an easy fix! Everyone (players & staff) are to blame and must drop their individualistic egos/pride to rebuild a team-oriented effort.

ESPN's sideline guy commented on that too...

In Response To: I was able to catch some of the game last night... (Divine Ute Fan)

He said mac told the offense to quit "bitching at each other". This definitely isn't a "team", teammates pick each other up, not bitch at them.

It's scary when in the last 3 games I agree with 90% of what the ESPN announcers say, especially Corso. Sometimes the truth hurts.

No matter what's happened the last few weeks, I still would like to see the team show up for the next two games and hopefully win both of them. I don't see any way they will beat BYU right now.

It's hard to win when the offensive line is a saftey hazzard for the QB

Well, another game against a decent team and another loss. This loss should put to rest the theory that Utah is a good team that wins ugly, and that Utah fans should be happy with their 6 wins. Utah is NOT a good team, they've just beat some other crappy teams. Wyoming fully deserved to win and outplayed and outcoached the Utes.

Really, its hard to imagine how the team could get much worse. The offense is anchored by an offensive line so bad that it is a saftey hazzard for whoever is behind center. Utah cannot run the ball, period. I've watched every nationally televised Utah game and in every one Mike Anderson gets hyped as a great runner, and then gets stuffed. Of course the pathetic O-line may have something to do with that, but he hasn't shown me any moves or any special ability to break tackles. He's better than Bacon, but that's not saying much.

The wide receivers talk alot and then drop balls that need to be caught to win the game. The QBs weren't very accurate, and even when they were the receivers dropped important balls that would have kept Utah in the game. The defense was just plain outcoached and outplayed by a Wyoming team that executed their own gameplan. They actually blocked Utah defensive players (there's a concept for you, Utes) and the Ute-d could not overcome such clever strategy and got rocked for over 500 yards of total offense.

This team is obviously not wonderfully coached, but the players share much of the blame for this one. On the bright side, Tommy Lee didn't call any screen passes until almost the fourth quarter. Of course that's probably the only small victory we got coming out of last night.

When Utah was 6-1, people were asking why others were wondering about this team and McBride's future. I think last night the team showed why. We all feared a disaster of this magnitude. The team has showed the ability for a game like this since Air Force (where Utah was outgained 2-1 but still won). I've only seen the nationally televised games. Utah has not looked good in any of them. Can anybody who watches the Utes more tell me some reasons for optimism for the rest of the year? I don't want a Utah team like this to go to a bowl. They don't deserve it. Unless they show some improvement, a Utah can be 7-4 and still have a bad team.

What a beautiful night for a football game, too bad . . .

1. All those season ticket holders decided not to show up. The chair seats on the east side of the stadium looked to be about 60% full. Can someone who sits on the east side give me an estimate for the west?

2. The Utes have such a pathetic offense. No running game. Receivers who can't catch the ball when it's on target and QB's who seem to miss the receivers more often than they hit them. An OL that can't open a hole for the running backs, but which seems full of holes for the defensive linemen to tee-off on our QBs.

3. The defense seemed totally unprepared for the wide receiver sweep. This is not a new play for WYO. Anyone who watched the WYO/AFA knows that WYO runs that play just like the Utes run Anderson up the middle, i.e., ALL THE TIME !!! In all fairness to the defense, it's difficult to keep playing when the offense has no ability to sustain a drive.

4. Darnell was hurt. I was very nervous watching him lay motionless on the field. The medical personnel and the coaches had scared looks on their faces. I hope that Darnell is okay.

5. The football Utes continue to be the football Utes. We will likely finish the season at 7-4, although I do not think New Mexico is a lock. In fact, I think we will probably lose to UNM.

6. None of us know what to do to change things. Many believe that Mac should be history. Others fear that if Mac is fired, the Utes will return to the days of Tom Lovat (1-10), Chuck Stobart (5-6) or Jim Fassel (4-7). Still others believe that Mac's average of 7-4 when multiplied by 34-31 allow Mac the right to stay here until he decides to leave. For me, I don't want to return to the Lovat, Stobart and fassel eras, there is a part of me that is afraid that that might happen if Mac is fired. At the same time, I am not satisfied with what I am seeing. I want more. I don't want to spend every Fall waiting for the Utes to fall on their own knife. I have gone to 3 of the 4 bowl games in the 90's. All were fun. I want to do it again. I want to go to better, more prestigious bowl games. In my opinion, the old adage "nothing ventured, nothing gained" applies to Ute football. I am convinced that with Mac we will continue to see teams with winning records, although an upgraded schedule may change that. I am also convinced that we will see teams that underachieve, fail to compete for conference championships beyond the first 3 or 4 games of the season and beg to get into the lowest tier of bowl games.
