A week or so ago I wrote the first edition of Hoops a basketball based soap opera and after pitching it in LA this last week I thought I would give you the long awaited episode 2.
As we left off Steve Cincinatti head coach of the LaVerkin Packard Smoot University Zealots and Pete Pudkins his right hand man who was once a star at State University were planning to steal away State Universities prized recruit Legs Redding. Legs left because of the excessive cooking of casseroles for the State Univeristy Indigenous Peoples coach Mick Rajerus by his wife Sweetie. As the episode closed Sweetie went to Rajuers one last time with a cassarole to inform him of Cincinatti and Pudkins plot.
As episode II opens Sweetie departs and Rajerus digs into the special bratwurst and chedder casserole that she developed only for him. Unknown to either Sweetie or Rajerus, Legs became aware of that Sweetie was again baking for Rajerus and went to Cincinatti and Pudkins with the information. Cincy and Pud as they like to call each other trying to assist their soon to be new point guard go to LPSU Athletic Director Hal Vale for help. Vale is a diabolical evil genius with one great downfall, he has a enormous irrational fear of giant flags. Vale comes up with the plot to poison the casserole with a deadly and quick acting poison developed at the LPSU Creamery which is actually a chemical weapons research center. The poison will both help Legs concentrate on basketball and will once and for all destroy the glorious hoops program at State University. Legs successfully poisoned the casserole but Rajerus who grew up in Wisconsin had a natural partial immunity to dairy based poisons. Still Rajerus slips into a coma. Stunned by the loss of Rajerus the State University program prepares to turn its hoops program over to assistant coach Little Richard Hudsucker. Cincy and Pudkins and LPSU faithful finally hoped that the loss of Rajerus will finally give them a chance. Vale frustrated by the failure of his poison prepares to kill Rajerus for good. Sweetie suspects that there it is not a coincidence that Rajerus slipped into a coma right after he ate the casserole and Little Richard hopes that he can use this season to overcome a scandal in his past where he struck a player at Ithica College.
