Headlines:
3/18/2000:
Utah 61 - Michigan St. 73: In the NCAA Tournament the #1 seed Spartans ended an injury-plagued season for the #8 seed Utes.  It was a gutsy effort for the Utes, who lead most of the game. A 20-7 spurt in the 2nd half engineered by Mateen Cleaves ultimately doomed the Utes. Thanks guys for another great season!
3/10/2000:
Utah 54 - BYU 58: Aaaaargh!  The 12 game winning streak over the lowly Zoobies of BYU is over!  The Zoobs got that huge monkey off their backs by eliminating the Utes from the Mountain West TournamentThe Utes couldn't find the basket all game long -- a mansifestation of this year's offensive woes.
3/4/2000:
Utah 86 - AFA 63: Senior Night went out with a bang as the Utes rolled the Air Force Academy.  The seniors were honored pregame and again during the 2nd half as Coach took them out one at a time for standing ovations.  The lead was big enough to get 4-year walk on and Grey Squad captian Brandon Sluga lots of P.T.
2/28/2000:
Utah 0-2 on Road Trip: It was a tough week on the road as the Utes were swept under the rug by both Colorado State and Wyoming. Said Majerus after the Wyoming blowout, "I guess I worked them too hard."
2/21/2000:
Utah 96 - UNLV 52: Revenge was sweet as the Utes opened a good old fashioned can of whoop-ass on the Rebels and utterly embarassed them on national TV.
2/12/2000:
Utah 77 - BYU 62: Ute reserve Mike Puzey poured in 10 points and put the clamps on Mikely "elbows" Wesley -- a performance that earned him a standing ovation when he fouled out -- and senior Alex Jensen was the BOMB down the stretch answering every Cougar run, as the Utes piled on their 12th consecutive victory over BYU.  The game marked Utah's 50th straight home victory and gave the Utes the series edge at 114-113.  Sluga once again sealed the victory.
2/10/2000:
Utah 83 - San Diego St. 65: The team came out really fired up for Andre Miller Night (jersey retirement) and put the wood to the helpless Aztecs.  The margin of victory narrowed slightly at the end of the game when the Ute reserves (who don't even have names on their jerseys) finished out the game. Sluga Time!
