Apparently some people can't stand success, at least when its not their success, and not done in their way, or by people LIKE them. They can't stand to --get out-classed, out-coached, out-recruited, out-shined, out-noticed, out-worked, out-talented, out-publicized, out-acclaimed, out-spoken, out-done, or simply to be out-side, --- to be put-out. And a lot of people are simply OUT these days.
And who seems to be pushing everyone out in our solemn little shell town? Rick Majerus, the wandered, transient. Being on the OUT hurts, it hurts bad, especially when a single, fat, humorous, eccentric, idiosyncratic, intelligent, sophisticated, hard-working, laborous, goodwilled b-ball coach is in- and IN big, and pushing those not allied with him out, in their own backyard.
You get enraged, you start lashing out at his weight, his character, his ethic, his success, his conflicts, his temperment, anything you can grab onto to make you feel a little better, a little more at ease, to help you accept the thrashing that the BIG man's doing to your team, your ego, your religion, your comfort, whatever.....
So you press on. You keep on doing it, only this time you stretch quotes (Robinson/ Harold) you make unbacked and unfounded assertions (Winn/Monson), you claim results are based upon certain outcomes, despite the fact that you're not privy to those outcomes. You conjure fantasies, falsehoods, rumors, you flat out lie, at all cost to make someone look bad in the hope that you might feel better. To ease your ability to look good. What do you accomplish???? You expose yourself for who you are, and nothing more.
For those trolls, journalists, fans or whatever that feel a pressing need to come onto this board and cut down Majerus, we welcome you. Just try to back your unfounded assertions with fact not rhetoric. Make your words sharp not dull. I for one am comfortable with backing Majerus in all things, for his record, in more than basketball, speaks for itself. Much like your ill-founded assertions.
