Last night was the most alive and best game experience I have enjoyed at the Huntsman Center since the Bogut/Marc Jackson 2005 season. It was a fantastic ambiance. I would implore that more of you come out to support this years version of the Runnin' Utes. No, we should not expect more victories, rather, these kids are very likeable, humble, and represent this university with class and dignity.
After the buzzer had sounded, I felt more joy and happiness for those kids and for that coaching staff than any of us as fans. They have been told all season long just how bad they really are and that they are the worst Division I basketball team ever, lest we forget they were also coming off an embarrassing 44 point loss at CU. These kids could have quit after that game, but they didn't.
Kudos to Larry K. and staff for not only preparing and executing an excellent game plan, but for also getting the guys properly motivatated and ready to go. The Runnin' Utes are real underdogs and I love watching them play and seeing them progress. We all know how little talent there really is and how much we are all looking forward to the coming years after a few recruiting classes, but these kids are fun to watch.
Larry K. is the right man for the job. He has excellent support in Tommy Connor, Demarlo Slocum, Andy Hill, and Norm Parrish. These are good basketball guys who are tirelessly working to restore the once proud tradition of Utah basketball. PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE RUNNIN' UTES!
