I've said if JJ O'Brien is to be all that and a bag of chips, we need to see evidence of it this year. Evidence being some 20-10 games, or in that range, and he delivered last night. I don't expect him to do what he did vs. UNM every time out, but I do expect him to put up a few more games like that. Hoops is such where if you're going to be a star on your team, it has to manifest itself immediately, ie, in your first year.
Maybe if JJ doesn't get hurt, we don't lose 7 straight. No, check that. We definitely don't lose 7 straight.
Kupets scares me running the point.
Foster moved good last night.
Washburn needs to make his move early in his touch. Waits too long ... and for what? So he can be double-teamed? Yeah, I get the rationale behind that, cuz it might leave someone open. But he's got a good jump hook and we should be thinking to use that first, not looking for a lesser-percentage shot for someone else.
If I'm a UNM fan, I'm absolutely barbecuing Alford. Losing is one thing, but we were in control the entire way. Not sure Stevie had the pep talk filed away in the event his team fell behind like it did. And UNM really never made a run.
Optimistic? As much as I've been all year. Last two games have been legitimate, bonafide improvement.
